Men’s Hoodie Buying Guide, Based on Body Type and Shape

Hoodie

When considering buying a new hoodie, you should have a bigger picture of the size and your body shape rather than just looking at the sizing grade. To have an understanding of your body shape and the specific hoodie cloth and cut, allows to to dress smart and in style.

Your Height:

For Shorter Guys:

If you are a bit on the shorter side, the most important thing you should avoid is a baggy or oversized hoodie. Baggy or long fits will do nothing but make you look broader, drawing more attention to the height deficit. Instead, choose a hoodie that does not go past your belt, and that is generally slim and fit. Also the sleeves should not go further than where you thumb begin.

For Taller Guys:

If you are a bit taller than average, your focus should be in finding the correct length. You should go for something long line or a little bit oversized, just make sure it’s nothing that’s any higher than your belt. Be careful to check out the quality and type of the fabric and if the hoodie is bound to shrink after washing, if so, consider buying the next size up instead.

Your Weight:

For Slimmer Guys:

If your body is of a slim or an average build, go for a hoodie that is slim and fitted to avoid the hoodie sagging around the waist, which will only make you appear bigger than you are. If you’re on the muscular side, a slim fit hoodie will also be a good choice.

For Heavier Guys:

In case you are a little on the heavier side, make sure that that hoodie you buy doesn’t draw much attention to your belly. Your main focus should be to look for something that is comfortable but at the same time flatters your body shape. If you choose a hoodie that is too large in an attempt to draw attention from your body can work if you’re relatively tall, but if you are a shorter, broader guy it’ll do the opposite of what you’re aiming for and will just make you look larger.
